Application Deadlines for Vanderbilt MBA Class of 2012

October 12, 2009 - First Round Early Action Deadline
All decisions about first-round applicants will be made and communicated no later than November 20, 2009.

Early Action: October 12th deadline is designed especially for those who know that Owen is their first choice. Early Action provides you with the certainty of learning your decision by November 20th. If you are accepted in the Early Action round, you will be required to submit a non-refundable deposit of $2,500 by December 18, 2009 in order to secure your spot in the incoming class.

November 16, 2009 - Second Round Deadline
Second-round decisions will be made on a rolling basis and mailed no later than January 15, 2010.

January 11, 2010 - Third Round Deadline
Candidates interested in being considered for nomination as a Dean’s Scholar must apply by this date.  Third-round decisions will be made on a rolling basis and mailed no later than March 5, 2010.

March 1, 2010 - Fourth Round Deadline
All domestic and international candidates must apply by this date to ensure adequate time for application review, financial aid, visa processing, and relocation. Fourth-round decisions will be made on a rolling basis and mailed no later than April 16, 2010.

Essay Topics
Essays
You may submit the two required essays with your online application. In the first of the two essays you should explain your short-term (post-mba) and long-term career plans as specifically as possible. When combined with a Vanderbilt graduate degree, how will your previous experiences and personal attributes enable you to pursue these goals successfully? In your second essay for application please discuss in what ways would you impact Owen as a student and as an alumnus/alumna? How would you create change within the Owen community?

Each essay is limited to three double-spaced pages with a font size of 10 to 12 points and no more than 500 words.

If necessary, you may provide an additional statement to explain poor academic performance, weak test scores, significant gaps in full-time employment, lack of recommendation from your current or most recent supervisor, academic misconduct, violations of the law, or anything else that you think is important for the Admissions Committee to know about you that is not already addressed elsewhere in your application. All additional statements should be typed.
