Application Component

  • Application fee : $175 application fee for the MBA program.
  • All applicants must take GMAT , GRE is also considered.

  • International students need to submit their TOEFL, IELTS or PTE Scores. A TOEFL waiver is granted if :

    a) if a candidate scores 90 percent or higher on the verbal component of the GMAT or GRE.
    b) if you have earned an undergraduate degree in a country where the official language is English (not just an English-speaking institution or just a country where English is spoken) or have lived and worked in an English-speaking country for the past two or more years.

  • Transcripts : The admission committee require a separate official or unofficial transcript from every college or university you attended. Official transcripts are required from each institution only if you accept an offer of admission.
  • Two Letters of Recommendation are required.

Required essays :

1. Vanderbilt looks for individuals who will make an impact. Discuss a time when you made an impact in your professional or personal life. How has this experience equipped you to contribute to the Vanderbilt community?

2. Explain your post-degree short-term and long-term career plans as specifically as possible. When combined with your studies at Owen, how will your background, experiences, interests and personal attributes enable you to pursue these goals successfully?

Optional Explanatory Essays :

You are strongly encouraged to provide an additional statement to clarify and explain any of the following : gaps of more than three months in full-time employment, lack of recommendation from your current or most recent supervisor, limited full-time work experience (ignore if you are a recent undergraduate), poor academic performance, weak test scores, academic misconduct, violations of the law, or anything else you think is important for the Admissions Committee to know about you that is not already addressed elsewhere in your application. Applicants reactivating a previous application submitted within the last two years should provide their additional statement here.

Optional Diversity Scholarship essays

Underrepresented Minorities :

Therefore, we offer up to three scholarships ranging from $20,000 to full tuition awarded based on the degree to which an individual demonstrates how he/she has supported the academic, personal or professional advancement of U.S. underrepresented minorities (individuals who are citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. and are of African American, American Indian, Hispanic American, or Pacific Island American descent). To be considered, you must submit an essay describing the most relevant experiences that qualify you for this award. Priority consideration is given to applicants who apply by our January application deadline.
